All participants are required to read and agree to the following in order to register. You will also be required to do so at packet pick up.
I AGREE to provide my own SWIM SUPPORT CREW comprised of at least 1 member with a Kayak or Stand Up Paddle board. I also agree to provide LED lighting for the my crew member. I also am aware that the swim start is scheduled before the sun comes up and visibility is very limited. YES I UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT that if I do not abide by this requirement I will not be able to race and my race entry will not be refunded in anyway as of my revoked registration.
I AGREE to provide my own BIKE AND RUN SUPPORT CREW comprised of at least 1 member. I also agree that we, as a team, will only have one vehicle on the road at any time. YES I UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT that if I do not abide by this requirement I will not be able to race and my race entry will not be refunded in anyway as of my revoked registration. At least 1 support member and only 1 support vehicle may be on the course. This vehicle may never block the road or shoulder and may only pull off when safe to do so. If our support vehicle is caught blocking the road, it will result in the my being disqualified, banned from all future events, and my race entry will not be refunded in anyway as of my disqualification. Support members may only give support outside the vehicle and may not cross lanes.
I AGREE to provide my own HIKE SUPPORT CREW comprised of at least 1 member. I also agree that we, as a team, will complete the hike up and down together. If any of our team is unable to continue on the hike, we will all return to the Snowbowl parking lot immediately. YES I UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT that if I do not abide by this requirement I will be disqualified, banned from all future events, and my race entry will not be refunded in anyway as of my disqualification.
I AM AWARE that HWY 188, HWY 87, and CR-3 (the bike course) will be completely open to vehicular traffic during the event and I am expected to adhere to all traffic laws at all times. I UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT that this is an open bike course on a potentially busy roadway and I AGREE to abide by all traffic laws and stop when/if needed along the way. I UNDERSTAND that HWY 87 has long sections without a bike lane and understand the risks associated with riding this section of roadway.
I AM AWARE that the swim, bike, and run courses are in remote areas making EMS response times longer and the risk of running into wildlife and other dangers, greater. I UNDERSTAND these risks and take responsibility for my own well-being and that of my support crew releasing the event, organizers, venues and sponsors from liability. This is an extreme tri. The difficulty and beauty is not without risk. The courses are open, wild, and potentially dangerous. EMS response times could be much longer than usual and athletes may encounter wildlife during the race.
I AM AWARE that this event is more susceptible to Acts of God and Man and that there may be circumstances out of the organizer’s control forcing organizers to alter, or even cancel, the event. I UNDERSTAND that there is a risk that the race course(s) may be altered and that the race could be canceled. I ALSO UNDERSTAND that is a risk I am taking by signing up for this extreme event and it does not constitute a refund of any kind.
